Poverty Chat
Luke and Jimmy (Me) create a game to help the awareness about poverty. The key technology of the game are AI chat bots.
Game Overview
Poverty Chat is a unique web based game that uses natural language to explore a virtual world. The player will have an opportunity to meet an array of different characters. The player will have to solve the mysteries by chatting with other characters in the game. These characters don’t have the average computer response you are used to; they each have their own personality and will response to you differently using an AI Bot technology. The idea is to get the user involved in conversations. Some of the characters may refere to others to find the right answer. When the answer is found thier notepad takes note for them for later levels.
The theme of the game is Poverty. The player will learn what, why, and solutions to poverty throughout the game and will be needed to win the game.
The goal of the game is to help solve poverty by learning about poverty and spreading the word about poverty.

Technologies: Silverlight, Asp.net, AIML, Web services
Features to be added: Text to speech, speech to text, multiplayer (real player can replace bots and provide answers)

Comments found on other websites
I am not surprised at all that Frog Log won the hearts of my fellow judges and the Grand Prize. It’s a good idea that makes you smile when you first put your hand on it, packed with functionality and a great showcase of what you can do with a few lines of HTML5.
Interesting detail: the author won a second prize last year with a Silverlight application. This proves that a great developer is great independent of the technology he actually uses.

Just a great little game, addictive and well thought out with some interesting gameplay. I would LOVE to see this developed further by the author… My only ding was that drag-n-drop failed in Firefox 3.5; clicking worked fine, though.

A Cartoon Featuring You – ImagiNations Design Competition
This is a project we entered into the ImagiNations Design Competition. Our team – Gautam,Raj, Avik, and Jimmy (me) are waiting feedback from Disney’s Imagineering. Wish us luck..
Our Project
A cartoon featuring You!!
Most individuals experience power and joy in their dream world! The sense of happiness multiplies enormously in the company of family and friends. The power of group experience and group dynamics can never be explained but rather should be experienced. Our idea of “A Cartoon featuring you!” explores the territory of group behavior and group psychology attempting to unleash the joyous creature in an individual and in a group.
We call our project as “equally technical and creative”. Our plan is to provide an experience platform in the form a game-studio where two or more groups can participate in a game exploring the co-operative behavior within the group and the competitive behavior between the groups. The ability for the groups to make a collective decision combined with head & arm movement based character control on a big screen differentiates the idea.
Think of a family controlling a virtual raft on screen, a close friend directing its movement and a kid distracting the opponents in another raft – all motion controlled on a high-definition 3D world and possibly 4D with the support of air and water blowers. The ability of the team to drive the raft synchronously in a desired path escaping the hippos provides the opportunity and immense experience for a group.

The competition is a way for students to showcase their talents and for Disney to identify new talent.
